RAHEEM STERLING has refused to go on Liverpool’s pre-season tour as looks to force a move to Manchester City.
Sterling has re-iterated to Reds’ boss Brendan Rodgers that he wants to quit Anfield.
And the England international, 20, has now turned up the heat by saying he won’t go with Liverpool when they fly out to Australia and the Far East this weekend.
That’s likely to force City into action with a third bid close to £50m now expected to be made.
WANTED: Man City could swoop for Raheem Sterling
Liverpool have so far re-buffed City’s attempts to land the young forward, who has rejected a new offer of a £100,000-a-week contract.
But an increased bid could see City get their man to launch their summer spending spree.
And that would give Rodgers the financial clout to go and land Aston Villa striker Christian Benteke.
Liverpool don’t want to spend £32m on the Belgium international but will be in a position to make a £25m bid and could also step up their interest in Barcelona winger Pedro.
