The 19-year-old is set to join up his Brazilian Under-20 team-mate Nathan in set London after the club completed his transfer from Atletico Paranaense in May.

Chelsea already have a large presence of Brazilian stars in their ranks with the likes of Willian, Oscar, Ramires and Brazil-born Diego Costa.

And, according to Sky Sports, the Blues are set to seal a deal of around £6m for the Fluninense forward and will announce it this week.

It is likely that the youngster will then be sent straight back out on loan to further his development.

AC Milan and Manchester United had both also been interested in the player but Chelsea have won the race to sign him.

The completion of his deal will mark the start of a busy week at Stamford Bridge.

Goalkeeper Petr Cech is set to finish his £10.9m move to rivals Arsenal and will undergo a medical today.

And, the Blues have now been made favourites by the bookies to land his replacement, Stoke stopper Asmir Begovic.
