Chelsea star and Arsenal transfer target both set for move to Premier League side

Reports in France suggest that West Ham United are closing in on a double deal to sign Chelsea striker Loic Remy and Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Yohan Cabaye.

Both players have been heavily linked with a transfer this summer, and it looks as though the Hammers have beaten off competition from their rivals to sign the pair of French internationals.

According to L’Equipe, new boss Slaven Bilic is confident that the East-London outfit are on the brink of completing a move for the two players.

Remy—who scored seven goals in 19 Premier League outings for Chelsea—has reportedly grown frustrated with a lack of first-team opportunities at Stamford Bridge. After arriving from Queens Park Rangers, the striker has only made six EPL starts for Jose Mourinho, and has attracted interest from Crystal Palace.

Cabaye is another who has reportedly been angling for a move away from his current employers.

The former Newcastle United man has endured an injury-affected campaign in Ligue 1, and hasn’t shone when he has been given an opportunity to impress by Laurent Blanc.

The 29-year-old managed only 13 starts as PSG won an unprecedented quartet in France, and has found himself behind the likes of Blaise Matuidi, Thiago Motta and Marco Verratti in the pecking order.

Having impressed during his previous stint in England, the midfielder has attracted interest from both Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur.

However, the French source indicate that West Ham are likely to beat both of their London rivals to the signing of the deep-lying playmaker.

A further statement of the Irons’ ambition is that Olympique de Marseille attacking midfielder Dimitri Payet has also been linked with a move to Upton Park.
