Everton eye £3m swoop for Barcelona winger Gerard Deulofeu

GERARD DEULOFEU is close to clinching a £3m move back to Everton from Barcelona.

WINGER: Gerard Deulofeu could return to Everton

The winger was on loan at Goodison Park during the 2013/14 season and has been on manager Roberto Martinez's radar ever since.

Barca loaned the young Spaniard, 21, out again to Seville last season.

But Deulofeu wanted a permanent move this time around and has opted to re-join the Toffees.

The deal could be wrapped up by the end of the week and will off-set the likely loss of Kevin Mirallas, who is wanted by Monaco.

Martinez was also keen on Tottenham winger Aaron Lennon after the England international ended last season on loan at Everton.

But Martinez was put off by Tottenham's £7m asking price as he also looks to bring in another central defender to go with the capture of former Manchester United midfielder Tom Cleverley on a free transfer.
