Paris Saint-Germain have ruled out the possibility of Barcelona right-back Dani Alves moving to the Parc des Princes in the summer, as the Brazilian’s contract at the Camp Nou comes to an end.
The defender’s current deal with the Spanish giants expires at the end of June, and following another impressive season with Barca, his name has been linked alongside a number of tops clubs across Europe.
Premier League trio Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United are rumoured to be interested in his signature [via the Daily Star], while Ligue 1 champions PSG were also reported to be considering an offer, the newspaper reveals.
However, there’s a boost for the three English clubs, as Laurent Blanc has publicly quashed the speculation that the full-back could be moving to Paris.
The Frenchman told beIN Sports, “I can tell you that Daniel Alves will not come to PSG,” as quoted by the Daily Star.
“That’s the truth.”
It seemed almost certain that he would be leaving Barca in the summer as, only a few days ago, the attacking full-back hit out at the club for a perceived show of disrespect in not rewarding him a deserved new contract [via The Guardian].
However, Alves helped Barcelona to clinch their 27th Copa del Rey trophy on Saturday and, despite no extension having been signed, it seems that he could yet commit his future to the Champions League finalists.
