Japan will play their away 2018 World Cup qualifiers against Afghanistan and Syria at neutral venues due to security concerns in the two countries.
The September 8 game against Afghanistan would be switched to Tehran, and the match against Syria on October 8 will take place in Oman, according to Japanese officials.
The foreign ministry of Japan has warned its citizens from travelling to Afghanistan or Syria.
Japan are in Group E with Afghanistan, Syria, Cambodia and Singapore.
The Blue Samurai kick-off their World Cup campaign against Singapore in their first match on June 16 in Saitama.
