Bastia vs Caen preview - Garande hoping for repeat showing

Caen manager Patrice Garande expects his team to play with the same levels of commitment they showed against Lyon when visiting Bastia on Saturday.

Caen travel to Corsica for their final Ligue 1 away game of the season on the back of an impressive 3-0 win over Hubert Fournier's high-flyers which guaranteed their safety.

Given the congested nature of the table, they could still yet achieve a top-half finish if they win their remaining two games and Garande wants more of the same from his side.

"I'll find it strange for us to not put in the same investment and commitment as we did against Lyon," he said at a press conference.

"All the teams are tired but if we continue as we have, it will be a real achievement.

"But I know it will be a tough match."

Garande will pick from the same set of players that saw off Lyon so handsomely though Slovan Privet, who scored Caen's third goal in that match, will face a late fitness test.

Bastia will not want the season to end having won their last three games to propel them into the top half and they are on course to beat the 12th-placed finish achieved in the last two seasons.

They will be unable to call on the injured Sebastien Squillaci (thigh) and El Hadji Ba (groin) for the visit of Caen, while Drissa Diakite and Francois Kamano are banned.
