Alloa have it all to do to stay in the Scottish Championship after League One Forfar triumphed 3-1 in the first leg of the play-off final.
The Loons, who finished third in the third tier, gave their second-tier visitors a rough ride and won it thanks to goals from Omar Kader, Christopher Templeman and Michael Travis.
Kader tapped home after a howler from Alloa goalkeeper John Gibson, who spilled Templeman's effort with the game only 10 minutes old.
Gibson went some way to atoning for that error when he did better with another Templeman strike while Darren Dods headed a corner wide just before the break as the hosts were rampant.
Forfar eventually made their domination count further shortly before the hour after Templeman nodded in from close range.
Alloa were given a lifeline in the 82nd minute as Kyle Benedictus' header from Mark Docherty's cross reduced their deficit.
But that hope was short-lived as Travis headed home in injury time to restore Forfar's two-goal lead and put them in pole position going into Sunday's second leg.
