Queen's Park vs Stenhousemuir preview - Double boost for Queen's

Posted Tuesday, May 12, 2015 by PA

Queen's Park duo Shaun Rooney and Vinny Berry have overcome knocks and are included in the squad for the League One play-off final first-leg clash with Stenhousemuir.

James Baty misses out again due to a groin injury, with head coach Gus MacPherson looking for his side to continue their hard work.

MacPherson said: "We have done well so far this season due to a really strong work ethic from the players. They will need that approach again as Stenhousemuir are a side that has experience and good players right across the park.

"We put in a hard 120 minutes against Arbroath on Saturday and got the right result. Hopefully we will see the same against Stenhousemuir."

Ryan Millar is the only absentee for Stenhousemuir with a knee injury, with Ochilview manager Brown Ferguson insisting nothing will be decided in this first meeting.

Ferguson said: "We have watched Queen's Park four times and they are a side that play to a consistently high standard with consistent personnel.

"We did well to knock out East Fife at the weekend and the players were terrific in how they handled the occasion. We need that same level of performance, if not a better one, to return home with an advantage.

"This will be a really tight game and I can't see either side winning or losing the tie in this meeting."
