Jose Mourinho reveals it's 'impossible' for him to stay at Chelsea forever

JOSE MOURINHO goes to Anfield this afternoon resigned to the fact his long-term future lies away from Chelsea.

Just a few days after it was revealed he's likely to be given a two-year contract extension which will keep him at Stamford Bridge until 2019, the Portuguese admitted that his fate lies in the hands of club owner Roman Abramovich. And, even though he loves his life and job at Chelsea, he accepts that it is "impossible" for him to stay forever.

Six days after watching his side crowned as Premier League champions, Mourinho said: "I didn't stay at Inter Milan because I didn't want to. I didn't stay at Real Madrid because I didn't want to. I want to stay here but I am in Mr Abamovich's hands.

"He has no pressure. He doesn't need to give me a contract tomorrow, he doesn't need to give me more money. He doesn't need to be worried that some club is knocking on my door, he doesn't have to be worried with anything.

"When he wants me, I am staying. When he doesn't want me, I am going. So simple for him, so simple for me."

Mourinho said that even though he wants to develop Chelsea further, he feels "it is impossible" for him to discount the prospect of moving to another club.

That's why the self-styled Special One empathises with some rival managers. He said: "The pressure is the same for everyone, except for the ones that are playing in the mid-table.

"For the ones fighting for clear objectives the last couple of months (of a season) are very hard, very hard. The pressure is there for everyone."

Mourinho had particular sympathy for Brendan Rodgers, the Liverpool manager he will be pitting his wits against today, following a banner urging his demise being flown over Anfield.

And he jokingly warned that if anyone tries that over Stamford Bridge they will face an unusual response.

"If one plane comes to Stamford Bridge saying 'Jose Out' I will send a drone!"

Mourinho also warned Rodgers not to try to replace Steven Gerrard when his talisman skipper leaves for a new career in America at the end of the season.

He added: "I think he is impossible to replace with another player. I think you have to replace him with a team organisation, with a team philosophy, with a principle of play - not a player.

"If you try to do that you could replace him with another one who is not so good.

"You cannot go in that direction. You cannot think I bring this guy to replace Steven Gerrard, you cannot think I bring this guy to replace Frank Lampard, to replace Paolo Maldini.

"You have to try to organise a team in a way where the team can be successful without them."
