Stevenage Borough vs Southend United preview - Westley to bring back regulars

Boss Graham Westley is certain to make changes for Stevenage's play-off semi-final first leg against Southend on Sunday evening.

Westley rested a string of players for their final game of the season against Luton and the likes of Dean Wells, Bira Dembele, Jerome Okimo, Dean Parrett, Tom Pett and Chris Beardsley are all set to start as Boro look to take a step towards an immediate return to League One.

That means midfielders Simon Walton and Charlie Lee will not feature up front as they did against the Hatters.

Striker Calvin Zola could make his first start for Boro since late January.

Southend will check on two players ahead of the trip.

Jerome Binnom-Williams suffered an ankle problem at home while Myles Weston injured his calf in training on Tuesday and was forced to pull out just 35 minutes into their training session.

The pair have undergone treatment and the Shrimpers will have their fingers crossed they can feature while Jake Cassidy, who had been unwell, is also fully fit and available for action.

Conor Clifford is back with Southend after Barnet's season came to an end but boss Phil Brown says he will only use him in an emergency because of his numerous midfield options.
