Lens vs Montpellier preview - Courbis curbs Jourdren's tongue

Montpellier boss Rolland Courbis is planning to send Geoffrey Jourdren a message by starting Jonathan Ligali in goal at Lens on Sunday.

Jourdren criticised his side's "lack of talent" up front in the wake of last week's goalless draw with Rennes and Courbis is planning to drop him for the clash with Ligue 1's basement dwellers in response.

When asked about his decision to start Ligali, Courbis told the French press: "Jonathan, at least, he does not bull**** reporters."

He added: "As long as I am the coach of the club, no one will question my authority."

Ligali has only played three league matches for Montpellier this season, with Jourdren very much the regular number one at Lens and it remains to be seen whether the switch will be a more permanent one.

Montpellier are currently seventh in the table and they only have slim hopes of European football next season but they will be keen to get back to winning ways after going two games without a win, or even a goal.

Lens are already relegated so they just have pride to play for now, but midfielder Jerome Lemoigne is determined for them to at least retain their dignity as they slip down to Ligue 2.

"Now that our fate is sealed, we must still play on Sunday and put in a good display. We need to finish the season with dignity," he told the club's website.

"But it will be complicated because we have a lot of injuries. Every weekend, we lose a player."
