Alloa Athletic 0 : 1 Brechin City - Wasps hold on for final place

Alloa held on to reach the Scottish Championship play-off final despite a 1-0 loss to Brechin.

Having claimed a 2-0 win in Wednesday's first leg, the Wasps pushed for a third goal to kill the tie off in the opening exchanges with Liam Buchanan denied by Graeme Smith and Michael Chopra missing the target from inside the six-yard box.

But the Indodrill Stadium crowd began to grow nervy when, in first-half added time, Robbie Barr hit the crossbar and then 20 minutes later John Gibson made a smart stop to deny Gerard McLauchlen.

And even though Alan Trouten scored the game's only goal with 10 minutes remaining from Barr's cross, Alloa held out and secured their place in the two-legged final against Forfar.
