Oldham Athletic AFC vs Peterborough United preview - Duo in Latics frame

Posted Friday, May 01, 2015 by PA

Oldham could have Anthony Gerrard and Luke Woodland available as they close out the campaign at home to Peterborough.

Defender Gerrard missed the loss against Walsall last weekend with a knock while on-loan Bolton midfielder Woodland is back training but has not featured since extending his stay until the end of the season in mid-April.

David Mellor is likely to retain his place in midfield having been one of the few bright spots in the defeat to the Saddlers, but top scorer Jonathan Forte (knee) and full-back Joseph Mills (hamstring) are out for the season while on-loan striker Conor Wilkinson has returned to Bolton for treatment on a hamstring injury.

Latics have failed to win any of their past seven games and have still yet to decide whether to appoint Dean Holden on a permanent basis.

Peterborough have no new problems and will conclude the campaign with a similar squad to last weekend.

Sixteen-year-old Leonardo Da Silva Lopes could keep his place in the team while fellow youngster Jonny Edwards could also be involved again.

The likes of Jack Payne, Luke James, Christian Burgess, David Norris and Harry Beautyman are options for manager Dave Robertson as Posh look to finish with back-to-back wins after a first victory in seven outings against Crawley.

Kgosi Ntlhe will complete a two-match ban while Jon Taylor (knee), Jermaine Anderson (toe) and Jack Baldwin (knee) remain out.
