Evian Thonon Gaillard 1 - 2 Bastia : Bastia pile misery on Evian

Bastia did their hopes of staying in Ligue 1 the power of good on Saturday evening with a 2-1 come-from-behind triumph at fellow strugglers Evian.

Eighteen-year-old Guinea striker Francois Kamano grabbed both goals, the winner two minutes from time, as the visitors moved three points clear of their hosts.

Gilles Sunu had given Evian the lead just before half-time, but defeat saw them slip into the relegation zone with four games left.

Both teams headed into the contest at the Parc des Sports on 37 points, and both in poor form.

The first chance of the game fell to the home team, with Dany Nounkeu sending a volley just over the bar on four minutes.

Bastia went even closer midway through the second half, Floyd Ayite lashing the rebound against the bar after home goalkeeper Benjamin Leroy had punched away Brandao's effort.

Kamano warmed up for his second-half heroics with his first shot on goal just before the half-hour mark, but was narrowly wide with a left-footed blast from Ryad Boudebouz's assist.

And the Corsican side found themselves behind heading into the interval, after Clarck N'Sikulu surged forward down the left and provided the perfect cross for the unmarked Sunu to tap in the opener.

Ayite was close to equalising five minutes after the restart but fizzed his right-footed shot wide.

In the 58th minute parity was restored, however. Gael Danic led the counter-attack which culminated in a close-range finish from Kamano.

Mathieu Duhamel freed N'Sikulu for a first-time shot soon after as Evian looked to restore their lead, but he was off target.

And Kamano had the final word in dramatic style in the 88th minute. Julian Palmieri charged down the left and crossed towards the teenager, who was unmarked at the far post and despatched a neat volley past Leroy.
