Queen of South vs Dumbarton preview - Duo back to face Sons

Queen of the South will add fit-again Ian McShane and Lewis Kidd to their squad as they attempt to see off visitors Dumbarton and book their place in the play-offs.

Danny Carmichael is expected to overcome a knock picked up in last weekend's 2-2 draw at Alloa, but Mark Millar is banned and Chris Mitchell (toe) and Paul Burns (hip) are injured.

Manager James Fowler said: "Starting well is key as we were not like ourselves in the first half at Alloa. It is difficult to win when you only turn up for one half.

"Dumbarton will be dangerous as they will not want their season to end with a run of defeats."

The Sons miss suspended skipper Andy Graham with knee injuries ruling out David van Zanten and Chris Duggan.

Lee Mair is also unavailable to manager Ian Murray after a contract row went public this week.

Murray's men have lost their last four games and he said: "It has been a disappointing run results wise but the boys put in a really good performance against Rangers last weekend despite losing 3-1.

"If we can get a similar performance in this game and a slice of better fortune in front of goal then we can pick something up down at Queen of the South."
