Arsenal ‘in William Carvalho transfer talks as Sporting Lisbon drop price’

Arsenal are in negotiations for William Carvalho

Arsenal have been given the green light to finally sign William Carvalho with transfer talks underway with his club Sporting Lisbon.

The Gunners apparently made several bids to sign midfield powerhouse Carvalho last summer, but the deal collapsed.

However, Portugese newspaper O Jogo says negotiations have been continuing, and an agreement is now on the cards with Sporting ready to sell for £21.5million.

Sporting had previously asked for a fee closer to £30million, but the club are ready to cash in this summer, and Arsenal look to be in the driving seat to do business.

Liverpool and Manchester United are also keen on the player, but Arsenal need a player like Carvalho and are the only side in talks at present.
