Man United eye Aston Villa star Christian Benteke

CHRISTIAN BENTEKE goes into today’s FA Cup semi-final against Liverpool as a potential target for Manchester United.

The Aston Villa striker impressed United boss Louis van Gaal with his recent performance at Old Trafford.

United have their striker department to address in the summer with the futures of Robin van Persie and on-loan Radamel Falcao in serious doubt.

And starlet James Wilson is set to go out on loan.

All that could leave Wayne Rooney as United’s only recognised striker. Van Gaal said of the Villa target man’s performance against United: “Benteke won all his duels.”

The £25m-rated Belgium striker, 24, is in hot form and has two years remaining on his contract.

But Villa boss Tim Sherwood admitted last Friday he could be sold.
