Stranraer 3 - 2 Stenhousemuir: Stranraer survive to move top
Posted Sunday, April 19, 2015 by PA
Stranraer edged a five-goal thriller with Stenhousemuir to leap to the top of the table after Forfar's shock defeat at Peterhead.
With five wins from their last six, the home side came into this match in fine form and they took just 13 minutes to break the deadlock with William Gibson firing in.
Four minutes before the break it was two, Sean Winter netting after Craig Pettigrew's pass, and they flew into a three-goal lead just before the hour mark when the latter found the top corner.
Stenhousemuir rallied and Martin Grehan got on the scoresheet from close range in the 65th minute and then Cieran Summers' left-footed effort set up a nervous finale for Stranraer who held on to reach the summit.
