Southampton loanee Toby Alderweireld has refused to be drawn into reports linking him with a permanent return to Atletico Madrid.
WANTED: A host of Premier League clubs are interested in signing Saints loanee Toby Alderweireld
The Belgian international has been linked with various Premier League clubs including Manchester United, Tottenham, Southampton and Manchester City.
It's believed a fee in the region of £8m would be enough to secure the 26-year-old's services, with no shortage of potential suitors.
However the British quartet have been told by Atletico Madrid legend Jose Luis Perez Caminero that Alderweireld will play a pivotal role for the Spanish outfit next season.
He said: "Oliver and Alderweireld, for example, are finishing a very good season with Porto and Southampton and we are counting on them for the next campaign."
"All the players loaned until the June 30 will return to our club at the end of the season and we will decide what is best for all."
Alderweireld denied hearing Caminero's claims, and insisted he is focused on helping Southampton achieve European qualification.
He said: "I saw something in the Spanish papers. I don't know, I didn't hear from them. We will see."
"It is not (frustrating) because it does not matter what they say, what is in the papers."
"I am just focused on Southampton and we are playing for a European spot, so it is going to be a special season."
"I am focused, I am happy here, so, yeah, no problem for me."
