Arsenal target Pedro wants to leave Barcelona in the summer

Arsenal will be boosted by the news that Barcelona forward Pedro will ask for a move away from Barcelona in the summer after becoming frustrated with his lack of opportunities, as per Marca.

Rumors have long being circulating that the Spanish international is unsettled at the Nou Camp and has been seriously considering his future, as Marca report.

It now appears that Pedro has come to the conclusion he needs to leave Barca in order to gain first-team football. The aforementioned source reports that the forward will not kick up a fuss but will make it clear he needs to move on.

Should Pedro become available then Premier League duo Arsenal and Liverpool will be on full alert, with both clubs heavily linked to the tricky forward.

However, Marca reports that just because Pedro asks for a move their is no guarantee he'll get one, especially given the fact that Barca are unable to sign players till 2016.

On paper, it appears that Pedro has had playing opportunities, having only not appeared in two La Liga games this season. However, 15 of his 28 league appearances have come from the bench, with the forward playing a full 90 minutes on just six occasions.

With Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar ahead of the 27-year-old in the pecking order, chances to start games will be few and far between, should Barca's devastating trio stay fit.

Pedro may also find he has to spend time on the sidelines should he move to Arsenal, with the likes of Mesut Ozil, Alexis Sanchez and Theo Walcott all in competition for forward places at The Emirates.

Pedro has created 21 chances in La Liga this season.
