Man United to miss out on Edison Cavani to Juventus

Paris Saint-Germain striker Edison Cavani had become a primary target for Manchester United next season but the £60 million star could be set to join Juventus instead, reports The Metro.
The newspaper claims Louis van Gaal's side were prepared to offer the Uruguay international £300,000-per-week to recruit the star but Juventus have now made him their top target, as a partner for Carlos Tevez.
The 28-year-old is set to leave the French club at the end of the current campaign and his agent has signified that he would like to continue his career in in either England or Spain, which could rule the Italian club out of the equation.
The striker has tailed off considerably this season in Ligue 1, scoring just eight goals for the French champions, with Zlatan Ibrahimovic doing most of the heavy lifting with 17 goals. Cavani has also struggled in duels this term winning just 45%, the third worst at the club.
Cavani has previously played in Italy, which could be behind his reluctance to return to the country. He played 117 games for Palermo scoring 37 goals, however he truly became a superstar at Napoli where he scored 104 goals in 138 games, averaging over 30 goals in his three seasons at the Naples club.
Cavani has an 82% pass accuracy this season.
