Liverpool reveal new home kit

"Hold nothing back" was the tag line Liverpool were using to launch their new strip for next season.
Entirely appropriate given the special event on Friday at Anfield for the official unveiling.
The club invited 1,500 fans to gather inside the club's Centenary Stand to witness the launch and play their part in creating an atmosphere something akin to matchday itself.
Throw in former players with over 500 goals between them in the shape of Ian Rush and Robbie Fowler along with current first team players Daniel Sturridge, Raheem Sterling, Martin Skrtel and Simon Mignolet and you have the perfect ingredients for an afternoon's entertainment.
The fans loved it, in preparation for the main event they'd been fed on highlights of every Liverpool goal this season, played out on the big screens, right through to the winner at Blackburn on Wednesday that sent them into the FA Cup semi final. Yes, silverware is still very much on the horizon for all the LIverpool fans.
Rush and Fowler were quizzed on stage, even the fans were allowed the odd question or two, with Fowler taking more than his share but seemingly delighted to be just inside Anfield again.
From the 80's and 90's goalscoring heroes to those that will wear the jersey next season....the four first team players were unveiled to a fine rendition of "you'll never walk alone"
The volume increased when Daniel Sturridge and, in particular, Raheem Sterling were introduced.
Sporting the new strip, with the shirt design inspired by a red and white mosaic based upon fans holding aloft their scarves and flags in the kop it evokes memories of LIverpool's hugely successful period in the 1980's......history not lost on Sturridge "They set the bar very high, and we're grateful for the history at this club, it's great to have that and we also want to create our own legacy in the history of this club"
It may be just a new kit, but it meant so much to fans to get up close and personal to current players, they felt very much a part of the club and certainly didn't "hold back" in their vocal support.
Liverpool can expect more of the same when they take to pitch sporting their new strip next season.
