Ayr Utd. vs Peterhead preview - Forrest boost for Ayr

Allan Forrest is back in the Ayr squad for the visit of Peterhead.

Forrest's return from injury gives manager Ian McCall a full complement of players to choose from.

McCall said: "We went to Stranraer last weekend and more than matched the league leaders. We deserved at least a draw however we left with nothing as we did not take our chances.

"The last time we played Peterhead it was a very exciting game that ended in a 3-3 draw, and I would settle for an exciting game and a 3-2 win this time."

The Blue Toon miss the suspended duo of Cammy Kerr and David Cox as well as Jamie Stevenson, who has a hamstring injury.

Manager Jim McInally is not ruling a play-off spot for his side, who sit seven points behind fourth-placed Brechin.

He said: "You never know what can happen in football so we will go out and look to win at Ayr and see what happens elsewhere.

"Ayr will come out and go for the win as well as a draw is no great use to them in terms of avoiding the relegation play-offs so it should be another good encounter between the teams."
