Cowdenbeath vs Livingston preview - Armstrong blow for Beath

Cowdenbeath captain John Armstrong looks set to miss out against visitors Livingston after suffering a head knock in the Blue Brazil's 3-1 at Raith Rovers in midweek.

Ankle injuries keep Dean Brett and John Herron away from the action and Lewis Milne is a major doubt.

Manager Jimmy Nicholl said: "We have given ourselves a good chance of surviving by picking up six points from our last two games. If we can make that nine points from three games by beating Livingston then it becomes a very good chance.

"We have confidence but then again so do Livingston so it will be a difficult game."

Livingston will be without defender Craig Sives, who has an ankle injury, as they look for the win that could take them off bottom spot for the first time since November.

Defeating Falkirk 2-1 in midweek has seen Lions put pressure on Alloa and their hosts, with manager Mark Burchill saying: "It was a deserved win and following up last Sunday's success in the Petrofac Training Cup Final so quickly has given everyone increased confidence.

"The belief that we can avoid relegation is growing, however we know that we face a tough task to win at Cowdenbeath.

"We have five games left and we want to win every one."
