Alloa Athletic vs Dumbarton preview - Docherty banned for Athletic

Alloa will be without Mark Docherty when they face Dumbarton in what will be new manager Danny Lennon's first official game in charge.

Docherty was sent off in the 3-0 defeat by Hearts in midweek and will now serve a suspension.

Stephen Simmons remains out with a back injury, with Michael Doyle and Daryl Meggatt both injury doubts.

Lennon said: "I watched the game on Wednesday and there were bits that pleased me and bits that identified areas that we need to work on.

"The aim between now and the end of the season is to finish at the top of the mini-league that involves Cowdenbeath, Livingston and Alloa.

"Beating Dumbarton will help us do that."

Dumbarton miss Chris Turner, who was sent off in the midweek defeat from Hibs, however Scott Linton and Chris Duggan have both been passed fit enough to start.

David van Zanten remains out with a knee injury, with Sons boss Ian Murray saying: "Alloa will get a lift from a new manager coming in and we need to guard against that.

"They came off the worst in the midweek games involving the teams at the bottom as both Cowdenbeath and Livingston won so they will be looking to make up for that by beating us.

"However, we have a good record at Alloa and want to keep it that way."
