Morecambe vs Portsmouth preview - Double doubt for Shrimps

Morecambe have doubts over two players suffering with hamstring strains ahead of Portsmouth's visit to the Globe Arena.

Mark Hughes and fellow defender Alan Goodall have both been forced off in recent games and will need to be assessed to determine if they will miss out for the visit of Pompey.

Apart from the normal bumps and bruises affecting every squad, boss Jim Bentley continues to be without midfielder Ryan Williams (hernia) and goalkeeper Barry Roche (hip).

On Easter Monday the Shrimps produced a come-from-behind victory against a Bury side who had been in good form and Padraig Amond and Paul Mullin will hope to be named in the starting line-up after both scored when coming off the bench.

Portsmouth will be without at least six players when they head north.

Ben Chorley faces a spell out due to a back injury and joins fellow centre-halves Jack Whatmough (knee) and Paul Robinson (cheekbone) on the sidelines.

Paul McCallum (ankle), Andy Barcham (knee) and Danny East (hamstring) are also in the treatment room.

Back-up goalkeeper Michael Poke could return on the bench having played for the reserves in midweek following a back injury.
