WAYNE ROONEY says the pride of Manchester is at stake on Sunday.
Rooney will lead United into Sunday's derby showdown with Manchester City at Old Trafford hoping to pile more agony on Manuel Pellegrini's men.
United are looking to make it seven straight wins to strengthen their grip on a top four place and return to the Champions League.
"I think it's a very important game for Manchester United and Manchester City," said Rooney.
"For the fans and for me, it's a massive game of pride."

The champions make the short trip across town with their confidence at rock bottom.
City have won just two of their last seven outings to slide down to fourth in the table.
They slumped to a new low this week with a shock 2-1 defeat at Crystal Palace to leave their title defence in tatters.
Pellegrini's flops now face a desperate battle to secure a top four finish themselves and the axe is hovering over the under-fire Chilean.
City captain Vincent Kompany has given up on catching Chelsea at the top of the table and admits his sole focus is on beating United.
City have won the last four derbies but the pressure is all on them and Rooney is relishing the chance to pile on more misery for his local rivals.
The England captain is determined to sink City and make sure United fans can dish out some stick to their rivals when they go back to work next week.
Rooney, who has led United to the double over Liverpool this season, wants the bragging rights and said: "You play for Manchester United, you want to win these derby games.
"We want to give United fans something to smile about when they go to work on Monday morning.
"We want them to be the ones to be able to give out the banter to Manchester City fans at work."
