Hearts - Alloa Athletic preview - Neilson set to shuffle his pack

Hearts boss Robbie Neilson has promised to give his fringe men a run out when they take on Alloa on Wednesday night.

The Jambos have already clinched the Scottish Championship crown but have an Edinburgh derby against city rivals Hibernian to look forward to on Sunday.

With Dale Carrick (hamstring) and Prince Buaben already missing, Neilson is determined to protect his top troops before the Easter Road clash, so will give some of his other players a chance to sting the Wasps at Tynecastle.

Alloa will have new boss Danny Lennon in charge for the first time as they look to bounce back from Sunday's Petrofac Training Cup final defeat against Livingston.

Jason Marr is out with a hamstring injury and Stephen Simmons is absent due to a back injury however Phil Roberts returns after he missed out against the Lions due to a ban.

Former St Mirren manager Lennon, who had a one-game stint in charge of Scotland's under-21 side recently, said: "I am delighted to be back involved in club management.

"Facing Hearts away is probably the toughest game you can start with but I am looking forward to it."
