Levante - Sevilla preview - Sevilla resume top-four quest

In-form Sevilla will resume their push for a place in next season's Champions League competition when they play at Levante on Tuesday.

Unai Emery's side won 2-0 against Athletic Bilbao on Saturday for their sixth straight win in all competitions and fourth consecutive in La Liga.

They are fifth in the standings, just three points adrift of a team Emery once coached, fourth-place Valencia.

The top four sides in Spain will clinch berths in the Champions League.

"Our dream is to play in the Champions League," Emery told Marca. "Our aim is to play in Europe."

If Sevilla look like the favourites in their contest against Levante, Emery knows how tough it can be to win on the road in the Primera Division.

"There are no easy games and although we are playing well, we must remain humble," he said. "We have to focus on our next game, which is Levante, and then on Barcelona.

"After that we will face Zenit St Petersburg - quarter-finals of the Europa League."

If Sevilla were to finish fourth ahead of Valencia, it would be the second straight year of inflicting pain on Emery's old team.

They eliminated Valencia from the Europa League last year in a dramatic semi-final tie.

Levante are 14th in the standings and just three points clear of the drop zone.

The Valencia-based team won 4-1 at Almeria on Saturday, with forward David Barral scoring a hat-trick.

That victory followed successive defeats to Real Madrid and Celta Vigo.

"Everything went well for us at Almeria," Levante coach Lucas Alcaraz said. "We took advantage of that and made the most of our chances.

"This performance has given us a big boost in confidence."

Levante have been playing well at home of late, with three victories in their last four league games at the Ciudad de Valencia stadium.

Sevilla are still without injured goalkeeper Beto, with Sergio Rico set to deputise for the Portuguese stopper.

Beto, who is out with an elbow injury, signed a two-year contract extension with Sevilla on Monday that will keep him at the club until June 2017.
