Sheffield United - Doncaster Rovers preview - Blades wait on Davies
Posted Monday, April 06, 2015 by PA
Sheffield United striker Steven Davies is doubtful for the home game against local rivals Doncaster.
Davies sustained a knock after scoring in Saturday's win at Barnsley and was withdrawn as a precaution so Matt Done could return to the starting line-up.
Midfielder Stefan Scougall is pushing for a starting place following his return from a knee injury off the bench at Barnsley and fit-again defender Jay McEveley (shoulder) is hoping to feature.
Boss Nigel Clough has no new injury or suspension worries, while Jose Baxter and Michael Doyle are in contention for recalls.
Doncaster boss Paul Dickov may make changes after the dismal home defeat to Bradford.
Winger Kyle Bennett and forward Nathan Tyson are candidates for recalls after starting the 3-0 loss to the Bantams on the bench. Defenders Cedric Evina and Jamie McCombe and midfielder Abdul Razak are also options for Dickov.
Teenage striker Liam Mandeville made his league debut for Rovers on Friday night and the 18-year-old is likely to be involved once more after impressing as a late substitute.
A knee injury continues to keep Paul Keegan on the sidelines.
