Burton Albion FC - Wycombe Wanderers preview - Weir boosts Burton

Robbie Weir returns to the reckoning for Burton as they prepare to host title rivals Wycombe.

Weir is available again after serving a three-match suspension and there is a good chance the midfielder could go straight back into the starting line-up.

Brewers boss Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink is likely to keep any changes to a minimum but the likes of George Taft, Stuart Beavon and Abdenasser El Khayati are also options for the Dutchman, who has seen his side's lead at the top of the table trimmed to just one point following successive 1-1 draws.

Stefan Maletic, Florent Cuvelier and Mickael Antoine-Curier will probably not be ready to return from their hamstring problems.

Wycombe have suffered a double blow with the news two players could miss the rest of the season.

Boss Gareth Ainsworth revealed that right-back Sido Jombati (ankle) and Max Kretzschmar (thigh) may not feature again in the Chairboys' promotion push, meaning Ainsworth will have to deal with a threadbare squad for the run-in.

And he will hope Matt McClure is passed fit after the striker missed the home defeat to Oxford with a calf strain. If he fails a fitness test then Paul Hayes and Fred Onyedinma may lead the line once more.

The third-placed Blues could make changes in a bid to get back to winning ways with Peter Murphy and goalscorer Aaron Holloway both hoping to be given the nod.
