Cardiff City - Bolton Wanderers preview - Turner set for Bluebirds return

Cardiff could involve Ben Turner for the first time since January when they host Bolton.

The centre-back has been sidelined with damaged ankle ligaments since the last meeting between the sides in January but boss Russell Slade revealed he has recovered quickly and could make his matchday 18.

Strikers Federico Macheda and Alex Revell, who both missed out on the 1-1 draw with Reading due to knocks to their backs, will be assessed by the Bluebirds' medical team.

This match comes too soon for long-term injury absentees Kagisho Dikgacoi and Anthony Pilkington.

Adam Le Fondre will have to come out of the Bolton team.

The Cardiff loanee is ineligible to play against his parent club so Wanderers boss Neil Lennon opted not to start Emile Heskey for Saturday's draw with Blackpool with half an eye on starting him in south Wales.

Lennon was unhappy with the sluggish start Bolton produced against the division's bottom side and could tinker with his formation again, with Rochinha, hauled off at half-time against the Seasiders, likely to drop out of the XI.

Mark Davies (knee) could return next weekend but this fixture comes too soon for him while Marc Tierney (broken leg), Max Clayton (knee), Zach Clough (shoulder) and David Wheater (hamstring) will not play again this season.
