Anderlecht star Andy Najar's 'dream' of Gunners transfer

Anderlecht winger Andy Najar has gone public with his desire to play for Arsenal, as per Metro.

The 22-year-old has played against the Gunners twice in the Champions League group stages this season.

He scored against them in October as the Gunners won 2-1 at Anderlecht and played in the reverse fixture in November, when the Belgian side came from 3-0 down to draw 3-3.

The Honduran is highly rated in Belgium and have attracted interest from Tottenham Hotspurs, as reported by the Daily Star.

But Najar, has gone public with his affection for Spurs' bitter rivals Arsenal and how he was inspired by Gunners legend Thierry Henry.

"I would like to go to English Football," he said, "and [I] have always had a team in England which has been my dream - Arsenal. I keep that in mind.

"When I was little I liked Thierry Henry and I always had this dream of reaching Arsenal."

Najar has been impressive for Anderlecht this season, playing in five of their six Champions League group games. Apart from the goal against Arsenal he also one assist and created six chances for his team-mates in the Champions League this season.

He has also registered an impressive 83% pass accuracy with an average pass length of 17m in the competition.

He has successfully completed 16 take ons with a success rate of 47%.

He has won five out of nine headed duels, and won eight tackles from 20 attempts.

Najar was Anderlecht's third best player in the Champions League with a overall performance score of 132.
