Stirling Albion 0 - 2 Airdrie United: Prunty is spot on for Airdrie
Posted Sunday, April 05, 2015 by PA
Bryan Prunty scored two penalties as Airdrie ran out 2-0 winners at Stirling to make it four wins in five games.
The rock-bottom side managed to keep the visitors quiet until five minutes before half time but they had goalkeeper Callum Reidford to thank for keeping out Scott Fraser's right-footed effort.
But having picked up just 17 points all season it was always going to be a struggle against play-off chasing Airdrie and with 53 minutes on the clock Adam Cummins fouled Bob McHugh and Prunty found the top right-hand corner from the penalty spot to break the deadlock.
The striker would send his second spot-kick, awarded with 11 minutes to go for a foul by Ross Forsyth on Fraser, straight down the middle to seal a routine victory and move Prunty closer to the top in the race for the golden boot.
