Cowdenbeath vs Dumbarton preview - Adamson available again

Cowdenbeath welcome defender Kenny Adamson back from a two-game ban when they host Dumbarton.

However, ankle injuries keep Dean Brett and John Herron out, with Lewis Milne struggling due to a knock.

Manager Jimmy Nicholl said: "After we lost 10-0 to Hearts we have looked to build confidence in the squad through their displays. To some extent that has worked, however we are still switching off at set pieces and really need to score some goals.

"If we can get those areas right we can beat Dumbarton."

Dumbarton are without David van Zanten with a knee injury and Chris Turner through suspension, while former Blue Brazil player Scott Linton is rated extremely doubtful.

The Sons have already met one objective this season and manager Ian Murray is now looking for them to meet a second one.

He explained: "With Cowdenbeath losing in midweek to Falkirk we have avoided automatic relegation and now I want us to avoid the (relegation) play-offs.

"We can do that by winning this game and securing Championship football for next season with four games left would be a terrific achievement. However, it will not be easy as Cowdenbeath are battlers."
