Atalanta vs Torino preview - Atalanta continue survival quest

Atalanta resume their fight for Serie A survival on Saturday when they host a Torino team that has surpassed expectations this season.

The Bergamo outfit holds the last position of safety and has not won a match since February 1.

Atalanta are five points above the drop zone after holding Napoli to a 1-1 draw in the last round.

Edy Reja is still searching for his victory since taking over the club last month.

"To have held a team like Napoli to a draw should give us more confidence in order to approach our coming games with the right mentality," Reja said to the Italian press. "We have worked hard during the international break and I hope we will see against Torino the Atalanta we all know.

"There are 10 games left to play and I believe we have the quality to do well in all of them."

Reja has some selection problems ahead of the encounter at the Atleti Azzurri d'Italia stadium.

Midfielders Marcelo Estigarribia and Cristian Raimondi are still unavailable through injury while strikers Alejandro Gomez and German Denis are both suspended.

Toro, meanwhile, hit back from defeats to Udinese and Lazio by claiming a 2-0 victory at Parma before the international break.

The Granata are seventh in the standings and just one point away from reaching the 40-point mark, a figure that is usually enough to ensure a team is not relegated.

"We have three more points with respect to last season," Toro coach Giampiero Ventura told the Italian press. "But the most important thing is the mentality that has been created in the group.

"I'm very proud of that.

"We have a great group that has done very well.

"We are high up in the standings and that gives me a lot of satisfaction."

The visitors will be without midfielder Marco Benassi, who serves a one-match ban this weekend.
