Scunthorpe United vs Peterborough United preview - Scunthorpe wait on Slocombe

Scunthorpe goalkeeper Sam Slocombe could return to contention for the home game against Peterborough.

Slocombe returned to full training this week after recovering from a broken arm, but on-loan Luke Daniels will be hoping to retain his place in the starting line-up.

David Syers is edging closer to a return to action after being sidelined since August due to a knee injury and fellow midfielder Neal Bishop (groin) could also give boss Mark Robins a boost.

Robins has no new injury or suspension worries, while Theo Robinson, on loan from Doncaster, is expected to retain his starting place after his goalscoring debut in last week's draw at Notts County.

Peterborough's defensive options are boosted by the return of Gaby Zakuani and Ricardo Santos.

Centre-half Zakuani has been away on international duty with DR Congo while full-back Santos is available again after suspension.

Several other players are pushing for recalls after impressing for the development squad this week.

Harry Anderson, Marcus Maddison, Aaron Mclean, Alan Sheehan, James Pearson, Harry Beautyman and David Norris all featured in the win against Bournemouth and are options for Dave Robertson, who suffered only his second defeat in charge against Coventry last weekend.
