Cambridge United vs Bury preview - Cambridge to assess Tait

Posted Friday, April 03, 2015 by PA

Cambridge will check on Richard Tait ahead of the visit of Bury.

Tait is nursing a knee injury following the defeat at Hartlepool last weekend and the defender is a doubt for the U's Easter fixtures, beginning with Good Friday's game.

Greg Taylor (knee) and Nathaniel Mendez-Laing (illness) are both fit again and should return to the U's squad along with Dominic Ball, who has been away on international duty.

Ryan Bird will be hoping he is selected after being overlooked against Pools while Rory Gaffney and Luke Chadwick are both out after undergoing surgery.

Joe Riley will start his three-game suspension again for Bury.

The full-back was due to begin his ban for his dismissal against Northampton when the Shakers hosted Southend, but the contest was cancelled after less than seven minutes last weekend.

New Bolton loanee Rob Holding was named on the bench - with Craig Jones preferred in Riley's right-back berth - and will hope to make his debut this time around.

Defender Jim McNulty (hip) is nearing a return from his problem and boss David Flitcroft does not think striker Danny Rose (calf) is too far away either.
