Dumbarton 1 : 0 Falkirk - Rogers inspires Dumbarton win

Posted Sunday, March 29, 2015 by PA

Dumbarton dented Falkirk's promotion hopes with a 1-0 victory against the Bairns.

Archie Campbell's superb strike will get the headlines but Sons goalkeeper Danny Rogers made some timely saves to ensure the hosts won all three points.

The closest either team went to scoring in the first half came just before half-time when Craig Sibbald curled an effort narrowly wide.

Rogers helped John Baird's shot over the crossbar before denying the same player with a brilliant one-handed save early in the second half.

Campbell riffled a 20-yard strike into the top corner after 81 minutes but Rogers preserved the lead with a point-blank stop to thwart Baird once more.
