Hull fined after losing appeal

Hull City have lost their appeal against a Football Association charge of failing to control their players in their Premier League game with Leicester City and have been fined 30,000.

The club were charged following an incident where Hull players surrounded referee Jonathan Moss after City defender Alex Bruce was booked for his challenge onLeicester's Riyad Mahrez on March 14.

A statement on the FA's website said: "Following an Independent Regulatory Commission hearing, Hull City have been fined 30,000 after an FA player misconductcharge brought against the club was found proven.

"It was alleged that in or around the 68th minute of the game against Leicester City on 14 March 2015, Hull failed to ensure its players conducted themselves inan orderly fashion.

"The club denied the charge which was found proven by the Regulatory Commission."

Manager Steve Bruce had declared that the Tigers would "vigorously defend" the charge, saying "the frustration was that he (Mahrez) was blatantlytrying to get somebody sent off.

"We surrounded the referee because it was a perfectly fair challenge."
