Hartlepool United FC vs Cambridge United preview - Hugill set for Pools bow

Hartlepool's new loan signing Jordan Hugill is expected to make his debut in the home game against Cambridge.

Hugill has been drafted in until the end of the season following Ryan Bird's return to his parent club.

Defender Scott Harrison has overcome a head injury which forced him out of last week's home win against Mansfield and is likely to resume at the heart of defence.

Defender Matthew Bates (leg) and striker Scott Fenwick (ankle) are both a fortnight away from a return to contention as Pools chase a fourth straight win in their bid to escape relegation.

Bird will not feature for Cambridge at Victoria Park, with boss Richard Money determined not to "add fuel to the circus that would be created".

The striker returned to the U's on Monday after a successful one-month loan spell with Pools in which he netted twice in six games.

"Ryan won't be with us because I don't think it would be the right thing either for the player or the game itself, so he won't be back in the group until Monday," Money said.

Greg Taylor (knee) and Robbie Simpson (groin) are both set to return from injury, but Jordan Chiedozie (calf) and Rory Gaffney (ankle) will miss the trip.
