Real Sociedad vs Cordoba C.F. preview - Moyes wants more from Sociedad

Real Sociedad boss David Moyes is targeting the top eight as he prepares his side for a meeting with bottom-of-the-table Cordoba on Sunday.

Three wins in their last four have taken Sociedad into the top half of the Primera Division table, but Moyes wants his side to keep going and finish the season on a high.

Monday's 1-0 win over Getafe was their first away victory of the season and the former Manchester United manager knows his side will have to keep the run going with a win over Cordoba if they are to push on.

"I hope we're looking forward and up the league, but we have to keep winning games. I said April looks difficult, but we have to finish March with a victory against Cordoba to give us a chance to be eighth," he told realsociedad.com.

"It might be too much, but I think if we can beat Cordoba we can start looking at a higher position. But you must remember where we started, so we can't expect too much."

He added: "What a great chance to have three victories in a row. It would give us a big platform, but I have said many times the talk is easy, but the doing is the hard bit. We have to approach the game in a positive way and with great determination.

"We have to make sure we do our job well, if we do that we will win the game."

Moyes also revealed Carlos Vela could return from a knee injury he suffered in January, but said he would not be rushed into recalling his star man.

Cordoba manager Jose Antonio Romero, whose side are four points adrift at the bottom, vowed they would fight until the end of the campaign.

"Our goal is to win. We must go into every game looking to win," he told cordobacf.com.
