AFC Wimbledon 1 - 0 Portsmouth : Dons down Pompey

Ben Chorley's own goal was enough for AFC Wimbledon to record a 1-0 win at Kingsmeadow and leapfrog Portsmouth in the League Two table.

Defender Chorley's wild swing from a Craig Tanner cross in the sixth minute turned out to be the decisive moment of the match. Pompey probed, but failed to really threaten the home side's goal.

Both teams were only separated by goal difference before kick-off and that showed in a tight first half despite Wimbledon's early lead.

Alfie Potter slipped a perfect ball through a crowded box, finding Tanner, whose cross found the back of the net via Chorley.

Pompey came close at the end of the first half, but Matt Tubbs was denied a dream return to Kingsmeadow by a fully-stretched Ross Worner in the Wimbledon goal.

Wimbledon's Tom Beere saw his wicked shot deflected just over after the hour and Adebayo Akinfenwa headed the resulting corner against the crossbarbar, before Tanner forced a good stop from Paul Jones low to his left.

Jack Smith then forced a great save from Jones from long range and Adebayo Azeez missed when clean through, as the second goal eluded Wimbledon.
