Atletico Madrid have confirmed they are interested in signing Man United target Edinson Cavani, reports the Daily Express.
Cavani joined PSG from Napoli in 2012, but he has struggled to recapture the form that made him one of the most clinical finishers in Europe during his time in Serie A.
The 28-year-old has often had to play out wide rather than in his favoured central role in order to accommodate Zlatan Ibrahimovic, and the Express report that he is set to leave Parc des Prince this summer.
He has scored eight goals in the league and averaged 54% shot accuracy this season, and the Uruguay international has been linked with Manchester United, Arsenal, and Juventus, as reported by talkSPORT.
Atletico are also in the race to sign him, and their coach Oscar Ortega told Mundo Deportivo: "An interest in Cavani? Yes, there is.
"As long as there's a chance, we will see what he can offer us.
"But it depends on his interest in us too."
Former Manchester United striker Diego Forlan believes a move to the La Liga champions could help Cavani get back to his best. Forlan played alongside Cavani at international level, and he spent four years at the Vicente Calderon.
He said: "Cavani to Atletico Madrid? It would be spectacular.
"He is a great striker and he is in great shape.
"I think his style of play would be ideal for Atletico because he is a fast player who likes to counter-attack and to play in space.
"With the exception of [Mario] Mandzukic, the club has always had these kinds of players" Torres, Aguero, Costa, Falcao or even me."
Diego Simeone's side are currently fourth in the table, and they have been drawn against Real Madrid in the Champions League quarter-finals. They were beaten by their rivals in the final last season.
Cavani has averaged just 27.50 passes per 90 minutes in the league this season, the lowest of all PSG outfield players (at least five games).
