Greenock Morton vs Ayr Utd. preview - McKee blow for Morton
Posted Friday, March 20, 2015 by PA
Morton will be without Joe McKee as they look to bounce back to winning ways after a two successive defeats by seeing off lowly Ayr.
McKee is struggling with a head injury and will play no part, but boss Jim Duffy has no other new major selection issues
Duffy said: "A couple of errors have cost us games recently and that is the very fine margins that you have in this league.
"I am looking for an error-free performance and a win over Ayr to make up for that, but it will be difficult.
"They need the points just as much as we do, but this would be a terrific time to get our first success of the season against them."
Ayr, who continued to occupy the relegation play-off place after failing to beat Stenhousemuir last weekend, welcome defender Martyn Campbell back after a lengthy spell out with a knee injury.
But Alan Forrest is a doubt due to illness and Adam Blakeman is suspended.
Manager Ian McCall said: "I cannot fault the players for the effort or the quality of football they are playing.
"But we need to start putting more points on the board. We have to start turning chances into goals and good performances into points.
"Cappielow will be a tough venue, but we can go there and win, especially if we show a ruthless side to our game."
