Exeter City 0 : 0 Stevenage Borough - A point apiece for City and Boro

Play-off chasing Exeter and Stevenage played out a largely uninspiring goalless draw in a game of few chances at St James' Park.

The first half was devoid of any real chances but it was Stevenage that looked the more likely to break through.

Kevin Lisbie, who only signed for the club on loan from Leyton Orient on Monday, missed two good headed chances while James Hamon was in the right place to keep out Dean Wells' header.

Exeter's best chance came early in the game but Alex Nicholls was off target from a Liam Sercombe corner kick, while Clinton Morrison volleyed narrowly past the post after turning sharply.

Substitute David Wheeler headed against the top of the crossbar after good work by Sercombe and was then off target with another header in stoppage time.

Stevenage applied plenty of late pressure and Wells was denied by a superb one-handed save by Exeter goalkeeper Hamon with their best chance of the second half.

The Grecians handed a debut to winger Lee Holmes, who showed some good touches during his 20 minute cameo appearance.
