Glasgow Rangers vs Alloa Athletic preview - Bell set for Rangers return

Goalkeeper Cammy Bell could end his six-month stint on the sidelines when Rangers host Alloa on Tuesday night.

The former Kilmarnock number one has recovered from shoulder surgery but while he is welcomed back by Stuart McCall for the Scottish Championship clash, on-loan Newcastle midfielder Haris Vuckic is out with calf and hamstring knocks.

Fellow Newcastle loanees Kevin Mbabu (fitness issues), Gael Bigirimana (infection), Remie Streete (ear infection and muscle strain) and Shane Ferguson (knee) remain on the sidelines alongside Richard Foster (hernia) and Sebastien Faure (knee), while Stevie Smith (back) is a doubt.

Alloa striker Greig Spence will miss out on his side's trip to Ibrox after sustaining a facial injury in the 3-1 defeat to Falkirk on Saturday.

A back injury will keep Stephen Simmons on the sidelines, with David Weatherston an injury doubt.

Interim manager Paddy Connolly is looking for the Wasps to be positive and said: "We have faced Rangers four times this season and we have both won once and two games have been drawn. We can go there and be positive.

"If I can get the same level of performance as I got on Saturday with a tighter defensive display I will be happy."
