Blackpool vs Charlton Athletic preview - Cubero set for Seasiders return

Posted Monday, March 16, 2015 by PA

Jose Cubero could make his first Blackpool start since September when Charlton head to Bloomfield Road.

The Costa Rica international was selected by manager Lee Clark for the first time in the weekend's 4-0 loss to Bournemouth and was one of the few players to come away with any credit.

Tony McMahon begins a two-match suspension and Clark is awaiting news on fellow defender Niall Maher's groin scan, while captain Jamie O'Hara (ankle) is once again considered doubtful.

Miles Addison, ineligible to play against his parent club Bournemouth on Saturday, comes back into the mix but Henry Cameron (ankle) and Mark Waddington (foot) are still out.

Chris Eagles is pushing to make his first Charlton start against his former club.

The midfielder has made six substitute appearances since joining the Addicks from Blackpool on a free transfer in February.

Left-back Rhoys Wiggins (calf) and skipper Johnnie Jackson (leg) are set to miss out again while winger Franck Moussa (knee) remains a long-term absentee.

But boss Guy Luzon has no new injury concerns after Charlton's three-match winning run came to an end with a 3-1 defeat by Blackburn on Saturday.
