Inter Milan vs Cesena preview - Cesena under pressure to beat Inter

Nico Pulzetti is confident Cesena can spring a surprise or two across a daunting double-header in Serie A, starting with Sunday's trip to Inter Milan.

The Seahorses are four points from 17th-placed Atalanta and safety following victory over Udinese and a subsequent goalless draw with Palermo at the Stadio Dino Manuzzi.

Despite their current occupation of eighth place, Inter are not the powerhouses they once were and endured a 3-1 Europa League defeat to Wolfsburg in midweek, a result that Pulzetti hopes has wounded Roberto Mancini's men.

He told Corriere dello Sport: "We are four points from safety and we need to start picking up some points quickly.

"We have two tough games ahead of us, both in Milan and then at home against Roma, but we have to take each game as it comes.

"We start these kind of matches as the weaker team but we can always give our all right to the final whistle.

"Inter are a great team, we know that, but we'll go out on the pitch looking for three points while trying not to lose.

"Salvation is four points away and we have sent out a message by avoiding conceding in the last two games."

Injuries have hit Cesena hard in recent weeks with Riccardo Cazzola, Guido Marilungo and Ze Eduardo among the first-team players on the sidelines.

Inter will need a minor reshuffle following their trip to Germany but Yuto Nagatomo and Jonathan are out injured while Juan Jesus serves a one-match ban.

The Nerazzurri rallied to force a 2-2 draw at Napoli last time out. A three-game winning streak seems like a distant memory, however, and the nearest European berth is occupied by Sampdoria and lies six points away.

Undaunted, boss Roberto Mancini this week outlined his plans to challenge for the Scudetto next season.

The man who guided Inter to three titles in the last decade said: "I can see my guys improving more and more all the time, they are all growing.

"Next year we aim to be struggling alongside the likes of Juventus, Napoli and Roma."
